My four areas of editing focus are: manuscript evaluation (beta reading); developmental editing (substantive editing); sensitivity reading (authenticity/diversity reading reading); and proofreading.
I've edited 80+ books to date and am equally proficient with the finely-detailed skills of proofreading, and the big picture, macro-level vision required for developmental editing and manuscript evaluation. As an authenticity reader, I accurately and respectfully identify unconscious biases, inaccurate language, and provide in-depth feedback to assist clients convey their stories without stereotypes.
